Add the pixel to WordPress
Add the tag with a free header plugin so your score uses real visits and speed.
The pixel is one line that reports real visits, sales and speed from your WordPress site, so your Growth Score uses facts. Copy the tag from the Pixel card on the Website page, then follow these steps.
Find where code goes
Install the free WPCode plugin (Plugins, Add new). It keeps the tag in place when you change themes.
Paste the tag
Open Code Snippets, Header and Footer, and paste the tag into the Header box.
Save and visit your site
Save, then visit your site once. The Pixel card should say Live within a minute.
| The Pixel card says | What it means |
|---|---|
| Waiting for the first visit | The tag has not reported yet. Visit your site once and wait a minute. |
| Live | Visits are arriving from your site. |
| Quiet | No visit has reached us for two days. Check that the tag is still on your homepage. |
A WooCommerce store is a WordPress site, so the same steps apply. A header plugin keeps the tag when you change themes.
The card still says Waiting for the first visit
Publish or save the change, then open your homepage in a browser that does not send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, because the pixel stays silent for both. Wait a minute and reload the Website page.
Is this my site to edit?
If not, the Pixel card has Email my developer and Copy message for my developer. The message holds the tag and the steps.
