Experiments, fix packs and tools

Score an idea, test it, read the result and keep the decision.

Experiments is where a growth idea becomes a test and a decision. It has three tabs: Experiments for the board, Fix packs for ready-made fixes, and Tools for decision calculators, site checks and templates.

  1. Ideas

Scored 1 to 10 three ways

  2. Running

    Press Start

  3. Analysing

    Add the reading

  4. Concluded

Ship it, change and rerun, or stop it

  1. Add an idea

Under Add an idea, write what you will change and the number it moves. Score impact, confidence and ease from 1 to 10.

  2. Start the best one

Ideas are ranked, and the best scores rise first. Do this next at the top of the tab points to the one to start. Start moves it to Running.

  3. Read it

When the test has run long enough, open the idea and add The reading: an A/B split, or the number before and after.

  4. Conclude

Write what you learned and choose Ship it, Change and rerun or Stop it. The decision lands in your decision log.

An A/B split is judged by the test's own maths. Before and after shows the change but cannot rule out what else moved, so it reads as a signal.

Fix packs

A fix for one of your weakest areas, built from your own site, with the file to copy and the steps. See Fix packs.

Tools

Decision calculators that open with your latest month filled in, and checks you run on a page you paste.

Templates

Record shapes whose saved copies count as evidence for your Growth Score.

An experiment can be part of a Sprint under way, and your team can vote and comment on it from its page. Delete experiment removes it.

One test at a time teaches you more than five. Finish a running test before you start the next.
