Add the pixel in Tag Manager

Add the tag as a Custom HTML tag in your container and publish it.

The pixel is one line that reports real visits, sales and speed from your Google Tag Manager site, so your Growth Score uses facts. Copy the tag from the Pixel card on the Website page, then follow these steps.

  1. Find where code goes

Create a new tag and choose Custom HTML. Name it something you will find again, such as Surfil pixel.

  2. Paste the tag

Paste the tag, and set the trigger to All pages.

  3. Save and visit your site

Submit and publish the container, then visit your site once.

The Pixel card saysWhat it means
Waiting for the first visitThe tag has not reported yet. Visit your site once and wait a minute.
LiveVisits are arriving from your site.
QuietNo visit has reached us for two days. Check that the tag is still on your homepage.

Set the trigger to All pages, then submit and publish the container. A tag that is saved but not published does nothing.

The card still says Waiting for the first visit

Publish or save the change, then open your homepage in a browser that does not send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, because the pixel stays silent for both. Wait a minute and reload the Website page.

Is this my site to edit?

If not, the Pixel card has Email my developer and Copy message for my developer. The message holds the tag and the steps.
